Brief: SRC President 2020

Share your achievement/success story in detail. When I was a student ambassador, fellow students honoured the work I was doing and how I would always go out my way to assist them. Since 2011, they kept asking why I am not an SRC, and so they encouraged me to apply and run for SRC President. With their encouragement and after consultation with my superiors I was told you are very capable of this go ahead and do it. In life not everyone thinks positive of you, some people actually had other opinions. For example one person said, one need to be an SRC already before running for the Position of President or at least one needs to be popular. Well I had another mind on that note, leadership is not a popularity contest and once you are born a leader, you are a leader no matter what.

Tell us more about your journey leading up to this moment. You know my name today because the God serve decided to elevate me and I honor him for that. The journey was not easy but throughout the journey God sent good Samaritans that assisted me and helped me to get where I am today. Students voted me into this position because they believed in my capabilities to represent them and that's exactly what I am going to do.

What does this achievement mean to you and how will you use it to motivate others? It means a lot to me, I said this at the NUST official opening and I will say it again. I grew up in the streets of Katutura, I know the struggle and I understand it very well. It doesn't matter where you come from and it doesn't matter what people say about your humble beginnings. If Josef came from prison to Prime Minister. You can come from anywhere, you have the capacity to reach your mountain top.

What are your plans for the future? I always wanted to be a lawyer before I changed my mind and started focusing on economic issues. Now more than ever I want to fight for the future of the Youth, I want to seat at every table where decisions are being made for us. My future is in the hands of God so I will be glad to take any position God gives me from here onwards. Upon graduation I would love to work in a bank, it's been my long term dream.
