Wellem Kapenda Mbushandje-student: Informatics

Brief: Took part in the spring school at the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agricuture (JKUAT), Nairobi Kenya.

How did you get to be invited at the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture & Technology? Well, we were selected. We had a Kenyan lecturer from Jomo Keneyatta and she invited a few of us to attend.

What was your invitation at the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology all about? It was basically about business and IT in general. Seeing that I am doing Informatics, it only makes sense.

During your visit, you took part in a workshop on business opportunities, kindly give a brief highlight of how this workshop benefited you as an individual? Honestly speaking, we truly have talented young minds out there. The workshop was about how to implement ideas of starting of a new business in various sectors. Everyone had something to say, ideas that people think of everyday but in a more ÔÇ£money makingÔÇØ way. I announced best with the best presentation seeing that I had to come up with something as well.

What other places did you visit during your time in Nairobi? I visited 14 falls, various mining industries and Safaricom, which is the leading mobile network operator in Kenya (it is basically MTC for us).

Success quote: Its never a failure, always a lesson.
